I don’t know how it happened, I don’t know what I did wrong the error just popped up. When I booted my phone it wouldn’t go any furter then the Clockwork mod with the following errors:

E:Can’t open /cache/recovery/command

E:Can’t open /cache/recovery/log

E:Can’t open /cache/recovery/last_log

No mather what I did, I couldn’t boot into the system because of the /cache partition.

After researching and checking the different options I had, I found a tool named nvflash.exe and with this tool i solved the problem above.

Go further if you want the solution!

** WARNING **
NVFlash is a powerful utility that works at a very low level on your phone. There are few safety mechanisms built into a tool like this because it is intended for use by people with suitable training.NVFlash can not physically damage your phone but it can render it inoperable. It is unlikely to create an irrecoverable situation but it does have the power to create a situation that you can not recover from yourself requiring factory maintenance.Warranty coverage for your phone is not assured after using NVFlash. Please proceed with the use of the tool carefully and at your own risk.

Preparing the things that you need

Downloading the software:

Download the flash package:Download

Download the Driver package: Download

Prepare Phone

Power down phone

Remove battery

Hold VOL_DWN+VOL_UP & plug in USB connection from computer (note, your phone will not visibly respond but it will boot to APX mode quickly)

Open Device Manager in Windows and you should see “APX Device” listed with an error

If not, rinse and repeat

Install Driver

Right click on the APX device

Select ‘Update driver software’

Select ‘Browse my computer…’

Select ‘Let me pick…’

Select ‘Have disk’

Browse to directory you extracted the *driver* software to above

Select ‘NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices’

Accept any warnings, including the big red alert (you may need to disable UAC)

Now in Device Manager under ‘USB Controllers’ you should have an ‘NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices’

If not, uninstall the driver, reboot, rinse and repeat

Testing

Make sure your phone is still plugged in to the computer.

Start => Run => CMD

Navigate the the directory you extracted the NVFlash archive to (2x-v10b-1300166062-nvflash.zip)

In my case:
cd D:
cd D:\Private\Downloads\LG\flasher\2x-v10b-1300166062-nvflash

Run a harmless command such as “nvflash –sync” (in CMD)

You should get something back like:

Nvflash started
rcm version 0X20001
System Information:
   chip name: unknown
   chip id: 0x20 major: 1 minor: 3
   chip sku: 0xf
   chip uid: 0x0280404444803457
   macrovision: disabled
   hdcp: enabled
   sbk burned: false
   dk burned: false
   boot device: emmc
   operating mode: 3
   device config strap: 0
   device config fuse: 17
   sdram config strap: 0

(You may get some kind of boot image error but thats oké)

Repairing the Phone

After everything has gone well there is a file named flash.bat in the directory.

Run flash.bat from the directory

Wait for flash to complete and device to reboot

After following these steps you should boot into a original non rooted LG Optimus X2.
After this part it is y0urs to flash him again into a ROM that you like.

Because Android is Linux I thought that the mounting should be configured in a textfile somewhere in the root/system area. After a small research on the device I found a file names vold.fstab in the /system/etc/ directory. After I opened the file I saw all the mount paths of my device and you know what…, IT WAS THE RIGHT FILE TO OPEN!! WOHOOW!

If you you want fix the problem you can read the whole article.

In order to fix this you need to put your device in Debug Mode.

Open the command shell of your computer and follow the steps below.

C:\adb shell

#mount -o remount,rw -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 /system

This step makes the read only system folder writeable and remov

Type exit so you exit the shell mode and pull the file with adb from your device

C:\adb pull /system/etc/vold.fstab

After you have pulled the file from your device you can open it with your editor (e.g. Notepad)

Overwrite the content with the following data:

#######################

## Regular device mount

##

## Format: dev_mount <label> <mount_point> <part> <sysfs_path1...>

## label - Label for the volume
## mount_point - Where the volume will be mounted

## part - Partition # (1 based), or 'auto' for first usable partition.

## <sysfs_path> - List of sysfs paths to source devices

######################

## dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/platform/tegra-sdhci.2/mmc_host/mmc1

## dev_mount emmc /mnt/emmc 9 /devices/platform/tegra-sdhci.3/mmc_host/mmc2

# internal sdcard as sdcard

dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 9 /devices/platform/tegra-sdhci.3/mmc_host/mmc2

# external sdcard as emmc

dev_mount emmc /mnt/emmc auto /devices/platform/tegra-sdhci.2/mmc_host/mmc1

# usbdisk as usbdisk

dev_mount usbdisk /mnt/usbdisk auto /devices/platform/tegra-ehci

C:\adb shell #cd /system/etc/ #rm vold.fstab #exit C:\adb push vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab

After this you need to reboot your device, if you followed these steps successfully you should see your emmc as the default sdcard. (It worked for me)

(P.S. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT YOU CAUSE ON YOUR DEVICE USE THIS STEPS AT YOUR OWN RISK)

A while ago I had this problem while installing printer software at a customer.

After searching what causes the problem and cursing HP for their “über software” I finally solved the problem!

There were certain services and DLL files that were not properly uninstalled.

The Windows services (files) were:

Pml Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZipm12.dll)
Net Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZinw12.dll)

These 2 services will corrupt your installation resulting the error mentioned above.

THE SOLUTION!

Check to make sure that the 2 Windows services above are not running (or not installed).

- Services.msc

Rename the 2 associated service DLL files (this will only be possible once the services are stopped)

Run the installation again.

The steps above should resolve your problem.

But how do I activate INNODB for cPanel?

1- What I have:

VPS (Virtual Private Server) www.maxserv.nl

Shell root access

WHM/CPanel (cPanel 11.25.0-R44718 – WHM 11.25.0 – X 3.9)

2 – Activating InnoDB

Login into you VPS with SSH and root

Open the following file

nano /etc/my.cnf

Find the following line and comment it out.

skip-inndob

[mysqld]
#skip-inndob

Now login into you WHM

http://domain/whm

Go to

Restart Services

Click on: SQL Server (MySQL)

Then confirm the process with a “Yes”

All of these steps should activate the InnoDB module, you can test it by going into your phpMyAdmin > SQL

Enter: show engines; command into the empty field and press <Start>

It should give the output:

InnoDB

YES

Supports transactions, row-level locking, and fore…

Update 02-10-2011
It seems that this tutorial also works for Debian Squeeze

I have searched the internet for installing a UPS ons Debian Lenny. But all the tutorials were outdated. Well not for long here I have a small howto:

1.What I have

Server with Debian Lenny

APC Smart UPS 750

2. Howto Install

First we plugin the server to the UPS with a USB cable.

After that we update our packages on the server:

apt-get update

After that we install the package named APCUPSD:

apt-get install apcupsd

2.1 Configuring apcupsd.conf

After we installed the UPS module we need to configure it the configuration is at the folowing location /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf:

nano /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf

Find the follwing word UPSCABLE Aprox. on line 29/326

Change

UPSCABLE smart

To

UPSCABLE usb

Then we scroll down and look for UPSTYPE and DEVICE Aprox. on line 75/326 & 76/326

Change

UPSTYPE apcsmart
DEVICE /dev/ttys0

to

UPSTYPE usb
DEVICE

Keep the DEVICE blank!

After that press CTRL+X and save the file by confirming with Y

Edit: 13-12-2009

Thanks to HJH in the comment i am correcting the thing i forgot to put in the tutorial:

edit /etc/default/apcupsd and set isconfigured to yes

After that press CTRL+X and save the file by confirming with Y

Now start apcupsd

/etc/init.d/apcupsd start

After you have started apcupsd you should type the following command if the ups is successfully installed

apcaccess

After this it should show an output with all the information that it should show.

This is my second post on my blog, it has bin a while you know busy with school work etc.. But well let’s begin…

Installing a DHCP-Server is not that hard actually…

I assume you have the following configuration on your machine:

2 internal nics:

eth0 (For the internet)

eth1 (for the internal network)

1. Setting up your eth1 for dhcp use

The most important thing you need to do is configuring static ip adresses.

I will use the following IP address 192.168.1.x as my ip-adress range.

We type the following command: nano /etc/network/interfaces (I use nano cause in my opinion nano is much more easier then vi and it does the same job for me)
And be sure the settings are the same as below:

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.1.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.1.0
broadcast 192.168.1.255

After you have modified the file press control+x you will get a confirmation telling you to save the file yes or no.. We do Y and press Enter

restart the network interface type:

/etc/init.d/networking restart

And press enter.

2. Installing and configuring the dhcp server

If you have completed the step above we are going to install the dhcp and configure it.

First lets install the module:

apt-get install dhcp3-server

After a while it gives a blue screen with a warning. Just press enter and let him install.

When it finished installing the server will not start. We need to bind him to a interface and give a IP range to lease.

2.1 Binding the interface

Enter the following command

nano /etc/default/dhcp3-server

Press enter

Edit the following line

INTERFACES=""

To

INTERFACES="eth1"

After you have modified the file press control+x you will get a confirmation telling you to save the file yes or no.. We do Y and press Enter

2.2 configuring the DHCP-Lease

We are at the final step and after that we have a full DHCP Server Running!

We are not going to use the default config file of the dhcp server however we are going to keep a copy of the config file.

go to the following directory:

cd /etc/dhcp3/

Make a backup copy of the following config file by typing the following command:

cp dhcpd.conf dhcpd.old.conf

And press Enter.

Now remove the file that you have backuped (we are going to make a new one in the next step)

rm dhcpd.conf

We make the new dhcpd.conf in this step as I promised type:

nano dhcpd.conf

Now copy/paste the following data into the file

subnet 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
range 192.168.1.10 192.168.1.100;
option domain-name-servers 192.168.1.1;
option domain-name "Failserver.nl";
option netbios-name-servers 192.168.1.1;
option routers 192.168.1.1;
option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;
option broadcast-address 192.168.1.255;
default-lease-time 86400;
max-lease-time 676800;
}

After you have modified the file press control+x you will get a confirmation telling you to save the file yes or no.. We do Y and press Enter

Now restart the DHCP3 server

/etc/init.d/dhcp3-server restart

And now you have your own linux DHCP SERVER! Easy huh?
